Delhi Air Pollution on the Last Day of Odd-Even Scheme

It is November 15 today, and there is no need to remind it is the last day of Odd-Even Scheme. CM Kejriwal had rolled out the scheme to reduce the Air Quality Index of Delhi, and we did see the impacts for the first few days. People were since then claiming that the air pollution of Delhi reduced due to the rainfall and weather change, while his supporters did believe that the vehicular pollution was in control.
The scheme came into effect when Delhi’s Air Quality had reached the severe or emergency level and the govt had to take a serious action to save Delhiites. The authorities hoped that the AQI might reduce till 15 November 2019 but it did not happen.

As against the expectations, Delhi woke us under a thick layer of smog on the last day of Odd-Even. Odd-Even has become ineffective in Delhi and it was the fifth continuous day and Delhiites are struggling to breathe a purer air.
People can only depend on the govt to take necessary actions to control the rising air pollution. The government had rolled out the Odd-Even Scheme 2019 for 12 days, and it is ending today. Many people want Kejriwal led the government to extend the scheme for more days because its effects have reduced.
Today, CM Kejriwal has addressed a press conference where he talked about the extension of Odd-Even Scheme in Delhi. He had mentioned that the government might extend the scheme if the need arises, and also requested the opposition parties to not to politicize the incident and support Delhi Govt in the mission against air pollution.
In today’s’ press conference, Kejriwal said that they will announce the final decision on 18 November and for now the Odd-Even Scheme is over. The govt might bring the scheme after three days and has not extended it for people’s convenience. “We do not want people to undergo unnecessary inconvenience.”
“Air quality is predicted to improve over the next two-three days. A final call on extending the odd-even scheme will be taken on November 18.” Kejriwal added.
