Amit Shah to Visit Bihar for CAA Query
Amidst of anti CAA protest by the
opposition parties, the BJP will be going forward with its hard work for
campaigning in support for the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
Amit Shah, Union Home Minister and current national president of the party, is
scheduled to address a massive rally on the issue in Vaishali in Bihar on
Thursday (16.01.2020).
Sources in the BJP said the meeting in a State where BJP’s own
supporter, Chief Minister and Janata Dal (U) leader Nitish Kumar, has confirmed
that the CAA needs to be discussed in the Assembly and shut down projections of
any exercise for the National Register of Citizens (NRC),
which is not only important in itself but also has great symbolism.
While the party is going full steam ahead with its plans, it was
also on the backfoot when the admiring references were made by the party’s West
Bengal unit chief and Lok Sabha MP, Dilip Ghosh, on the way the Uttar Pradesh
government handled protesters against CAA. Officially, the death toll in the
violence in U.P. totalled 20.
Party’s general secretary Anil Jain said, however, the kind of
posters which have been raised against [Prime Minister] Modiji and [Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister]
Yogiji, and also about Hindus by so-called intellectuals in Mumbai and other
places are quite a shameful one even cannot read them. He also said
Microsoft chief Satya Nadella’s made a statement while linking immigrants to
the CAA that it was ill-informed by the oppositions and all those fighting are
not properly educated about the bill. CAA is not something that is against
anyone, it’s not against any citizen of this country. This is to give relief to
those who are mistreated in the neighbouring countries.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday (12.01.2020) said no
matter how much the Congress opposed the Citizenship (Amendment) Act,
the BJP government at the Centre would rest only after granting citizenship to
members of six minority religions from the three neighbouring countries, and no
one could stop it.
They are also the sons and daughters of the country too. Even
they would like to enjoy the same right over the country as you and I,” Amit
shah claimed at a public rally in Jabalpur.
Mr Shah while attacking the Congress said if it didn’t withdraw
from its stand, whatever is left with them will also be cleaned out. They need
to understand the beat of the nation, should know what people want. Instead,
they just fear their vote bank.
The Minister said
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, New Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata
Banerjee are the three
misleading people over the law and had even prompted riots. We (BJP) had
launched an awareness campaign to restrain the misinformation being spread
among the people.
