New Mutant Trailer Brings the New Face of Horror

The new mutant trailer is out and suggests that the movie is all set to give its audience a good dose of horror. Josh Boone, the director, says that the movie revolves around the lives of five mutant youngsters gifted with special powers. The group is locked up in an isolated hospital and must fight their way back into the real world. According to the synopsis, “set in an isolated hospital where a group of young mutants is being held for psychiatric monitoring”. The new mutant trailer suggests that the movie is about the battle for life, “When strange occurrences begin to take place, both their new mutant abilities and their friendships will be tested as they battle to try and make it out alive”. It opens with Dani (Blu Hunt). Her future alter is called Mirage. After an accident, Dani wakes up in a hospital. She is handcuffed and is told that she is “a very uncommon girl”.

She is introduced to four other mutants: Rahne aka Wolfsbane,  Sam aka Cannonball, Roberto (Henry Zaga) aka Sunspot and Illyana. All these mutants have been captured after they killed several humans. Dani discovers that an invisible wall surrounds the hospital which prevents them from leaving the place. Later Illyana tells her that “This isn’t a hospital. It’s a cage”. 

The new mutant trailer brings in the horror factor when the group realizes that the place is not meant to make them better. Their doctor constantly monitors them on CCTV on the pretext of “finding out her power and helping her get better”.  But it is revealed later by the doctor that “This place takes your greatest fear and makes you live through it until it kills you.” 

Also, the new mutant trailer suggests what kind of powers are possessed by the five captives. While Mirage has the ability to create illusions based on other person’s fears, Wolfsbane can transform into a wolf. Sam also has the ability to transform into a cannonball. The other two mutants Roberto and Illyana are murders. At the end of the new mutant trailer, Illyana said: “I killed 18 men, one by one.” The craze for the movie after the release of the new mutant trailer suggests that the movies are going to earn a huge amount on its very opening day.
