What’s Going On: Another Shoot Out in Shaheen Bagh After Jamia Firing Incident, Anti-CAA Protest
Latest News Updates for Anti-CAA
Protest
❒ Jamia Firing Incidents
The third incident of gunshot was
heard on Sunday (02.02.2020) night. It was fired outside the Jamia
Millia Islamia University in south Delhi on
Sunday night. This was the third such incident in four days against the
Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) protest in the capital.
Though no evidence has been found
for the gunshot at the gate 5 of Jamia and also there was no phone call from
the Jamia protesters, very late police came to know about it. It is claimed by
the protesters that there were two suspects, one of them wearing a red jacket,
came on a scooter and opened fire outside Gate No. 5, said by the the Jamia
Coordination Committee who was also participating in the protest against the
amended citizenship law but no one was injured.
The police also said some students
told them that a shot was fired at the university gate, which is just 2 km away
from Shaheen Bagh, where protesters are already sitting in a tent on the road
for nearly two months against the CAA.
The Statements of the protesters
have been recorded and on the same basis an FIR had been registered. A police
squad will be investigating the entire scenario, it will collect CCTV footage
from Gate No.5 and 7, and then the police will speak something on the late
night incident at Jamia. As soon as the crux of the incident is investigated,
it will be brought into limelight, said by senior police officer Jagdish Yadav.
People in small numbers had gathered
around the university gates at night in protest against the CAA. In mobile
videos tweeted by people at the university gate, people were seen running under
the dim glow of streetlights after hearing the alleged gunshot.
Police officers went to the shooting
site at Jamia Nagar and searched the area. No empty bullet shells were found
there. Also, there were different descriptions about the vehicle in which the
alleged miscreants came. Some said it was a scooter, others said it was a
four-wheeler. Many people, including students, had gathered outside the police
station. Senior police officer Kumar Gyanesh said that they will be asked to
give a complaint for which the investigation will be done.
Prior to this the first gun firing
was done on Friday (31.01.2020) at protesters of Jamia Millia University by
Gopal as he was dead tired of the anti protest and said, he will give them Azadi.
❒ Shaheen Bagh Firing
Incident
On Saturday (01.02.2020), three days
after a teen shooter fired at protesters at Jamia Millia University, another
man did air firing standing near police barricades at Shaheen Bagh.
He was arrested by the police.
He was also heard saying: “Humare
desh mein sirf Hinduon ki chalegi aur kisi ki nahi“. He had
purportedly come to the area in an auto to disperse the crowd of Shaheen Bagh.
❒ Shaheen Bagh Shoot Out
With the frequent incidents of
shootings, the political parties are blaming their opponents. It is said that
these incidents have taken shape after the controversial slogans of “Goli
Maaro Sa***n Ko” were said last week at a Delhi campaign
rally of Anurag Thakur, the Union Minister of State for Finance.
Mr Thakur was banned from
campaigning in Delhi for three days for this. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind
Kejriwal slammed the Home Minister Amit Shah for this as he got the chance to
speak now. He had tweeted “What have you done to our Delhi, Amit Shah
ji?”
Bullets are being fired in broad daylight… Law and order is
being criticised constantly. Elections will come and go, politics will keep
happening, but for the sake of the people of Delhi, please focus on fixing law
and order.
Though, this Shaheen bagh protest
was initiated and supported by AAP party and Congress party but still blaming
BJP for it. Both these parties always support anti nation activities. When all
the things were made clear regarding CAA, NRC and NPR, then for what protest is
going on it is beyond understanding. It appears they all are following the
footsteps of Sharjeel Imam the master mind of anti national activities.
❒ Latest News Update
